How do you short out a ladies Analogue watch in order to get the right time please

I have spent hours trying to set My wifes Radio controlled Analogue Watch with no luck following a battery change. I have now been told that the watch should be shorted out. I cann't find anything in the instruction leaflet re this can you please help?
