Hi Brian, I took the precaution of keeping the paper instructions which came with mine, si I can help you here. It says
''After battery replacement you need to:
1. Align all 3 hands at 12 0 clock
2. Set you time zone (through city name)
3. Put your watch to a location where reception is possible for 24 to 48 hours to allow the watch to receive radio signal to set the correct time
1. Aligning
The watch does not run a nd the LCD is blank after a battery is replaced until the following initiatin has been done.
ALL hands have to be mover to the 12 o clock position for initialising.
a. Press and hold S1, (right top button) to set the secon hand to fast running.
b. you can stop the fast running by a press of S1.
c. to restart fast running press and hold S1 again.
d. when the seconhand is moving, and the hour and minute hands are closing on 11.59.00, stop the second hand with one prss of S1. Then continuously press S1 one press at a time till all hands align at 12.00.00 (if you go past 12, start again!)
e. When all hands are aligned at 12, push S4 (left lower) barely for 1 second to confirm.
e. After confirmation, the LCD is switched on and shows a flashing city name.
2. Setting time zone.
a. When LCD shows a city name, press S1 (upper right) or S2 (lower right) to set your time zone with your chosen city name.
b. press S4 once to confirm
c. After confirmation the watch will initiate signal reception automatically
d. The watch will run to the right time if reception is succesful, or starts to run at around 12 if reception has failed.
3. Put in a godd reception place, (by a window) for 24 -48 hours to allow the watch to set correct time.
Signal is usually better at night. So, if daytime reception has failed, put watch in a window for 24-48 hours for it to get good signal and set correct time. Watch will automatically initiate a reception at 3 AM after receiving a valid time signal, the hands move on to the correct time.
Good luck
