Mend Tecumseh CTR172 Ignition Mower

I need ignition for Tecumseh 50 mower, CTR172?

The old ignition unit got fried when the mower frame was welded, and I never saw it, but I believe it's electronic (maybe not). I've trawled the net to no avail. Made in Italy, Tecumseh CTR172, E-62182A.
Or, is there any sort of universal replacement ignition unit I could use?

Pat number is 34443D and is available to order from any garden machinery repairer that has dealing with Tecumseh. RRP is £40 inc vat.
