how can i prime a 1965 simms p-4665 diesel fuel pump for a ford 3000 tractor?

Simms pump usually has a bleed screw on the side, roughly in the centre. It may have a slotted head for a large screwdriver, or may be hexagonal plug.
Slacken it off a couple of turns, and operate the hand lever on the lift pump until steady flow of fuel comes out.
