my ford ka starts the cuts out?

hi ive got a ford ka y reg ive been welding it back together as a result i removed the fuel tank to do the repairs i cleaned and repainted the tank whilst it was off the vehicle but didn't remove the sender or other items i've now put it back together checked all connections as i went im happy everything went back as it should refuelled the tank no leaks now i ave tried to restart the car it cranked for a while but didn't start left it for a while it started idled for a few seconds then cut out tried it again did the same but cut out faster when tried to rev it have now checked the fuse it was blown replaced the ten amp fuse it blew straight away as soon as ignition was turned on have checked the fuel cut off switch in the drivers footwell that seems ok tried a 20 amp fuse to see if it would blow that but it didn't but couldn't hear the fuel pump make any noise if anyone has any answers on what the problem is id be very grateful
