heatslave 18/25 not firing oil?

my boiler is not firing i ran out of oil not realising. The oil has now been filled up but the boiler will not stay on. it fires but then goes off. will i need an engineer for this or is it something i can do myself?

could be soot on the flame detector, especially if you pressed the lock out override button a few time. You just pull this out from the burner unit and give the little glass bulb a wipe.
