i can not get my micra into reverse gear. it only moves into gear after a lot of crunching. starting to have same problem with other gears. What is the cause and is it expensive to fix. it is a 1997 model
no, it will not go into reverse when engine is off. Had a job to get into first as well yesterday.

does it go into gear ok with engine off? if it does it sounds as if your clutch isnt clearing,if it has a cable operated clutch you could try adjusting it,usually down at the clutch release arm on the g/box,try and get the clutch and brake pedals even and shouldnt be too far away at that
