how cai fix my washing machine ?

Electrolux aqulux 1000 EW1006 F drum will not turn during any wash cycle it lets in water ,drains the water but drum will not turn.

First it started just to make a noise when the spin cycle was due to start so iopened it up checked the belt and put it on a cycle ,it went through the cycle but it was making a sound like a crackling noise in the motor area , i thought it might be the brushes in the motor but i dont know its seems very hard to get at the motor and i dont want to mess with it and make it worse.
