how do I fix a registration error on a sharp ER-A520?

I have a Sharp ER-A520 cash register. We have had is for 8+ years. Today it will not Z out and clear the total for the day. How do you get it to Z out without having an Entry Error?

Make sure you do NOT use a decimal point when typing prices. If you receive a memory full error, then you have probably used all of the departments already. Try editing an existing one instead.
If you still have trouble, try to give more information on how you are using and programming the departments.
