Veritas 8 alarm will not set!?

Hi,

Recently put a new alarm panel in. Everything is working fine, there is 5 zones all wired to the PIRs. The bell box is wired up correctly. The appropiate zones are set to entry/exit to allow us to leave/enter the house to once we have set the alarm. ONE PROBLEM. When leaving I enter the code, and the unset light starts flashing, which I assume is normal? Then I press FULL, to full set the system. The panel then emits an error beep, the unset light stops flashing and stays on constant and the alarm DOES NOT SET! After looking through the booklet cannot find anything that resembles my problem in the troubleshooting section.

I understand that once I have pressed FULL, the panel should start emitting an exit tone and give me 30 seconds to leave the house, and then give me an entry tone and 30 seconds to re enter the code on re entry.

Can anyone please help, because as of yet I have to leave my house alarm unset due to this problem!

Right guys, one problem solved, another one gained!

After reading the booklet again and again, realized the reason it wouldn't set is because it was the engineer code I had changed, not the PIN to set the system. Reset factory settings and then changed the pin. The alarm will now full set. Brilliant, or so I thought!

I set the alarm and leave, on re entry, I open the front door and the PIR picks me up and sets the alarm off! The zone is zone 2 and it is set to entry/exit, but doesn't give me the 30 seconds it should to enter my code and reset the alarm!

Any ideas?

I have looked at that section, all the doors are shut, theres no movement, all the PIR connections are secure and as I know the polarity is correct.

You know, have you checked?

The panel doesnt bleep also, it sounds the error chime.

Does it make a noise or not?

Press the Full button only to Set.
Press your Code to Un-set.

Take a look at the installation manual, it lists "Unit Will Not Set and Bleeps 1 - 8 Times" as the system has one or more zone faults.
