Mend Spin Cycle Water

Washing Machine does not go into spin cycle and is filled with water?

I put a bathroom rug in the washer and during the spin cycle it became unbalanced and stopped. Now it will not reset. It will do the normal washing cycle but stops at the spin cylce and it is now full of water. Is there something I can do to fix it or does it require a Service Tech. Thx.

It sounds like maybe your lid switch got damaged when your washer got out of balance.
