I have an Oreck XL Vac. Cleaner than drags-hard to push???

I have an Oreck Model XL (Circa 2003). Intermittently the
vacuum "drags" on the carpet making it impossible to push.
I have checked suction, bag,and wheel rollers and can't see
any way the unit should be so hard to push?

i vaccume a church and mine's the same way. took the bumper gaurd off today and my arm's not quite so sore.

Mine too. Sometimes the rubber-band-bumber that encircles it gets off track and drags on the floor. Lors of WD40 helps too.

Mine does that as it develops a black residue on the bottom, probably from the carpet. It looks like the black plastic bottom has melted a bit, but it's just an accumulation that easily scrapes off. It takes me 3-4 years for it to get thick enough to notice. I'm not sure why this is the only vacuum that does this.

Try replacing the belt. The brush roller helps the Orecks move along.
