Mend Beko Water Stopped

Beko DWD5410W doesnt heat the water ?

Hi, My Beko stopped heating water and drying on the wash cycle so I purchsed a flow-thru heater from a spares shop online and fitted it but im still having the same issue. Can anyone help? The washer is working fine otherwise and I thought it could be a problem with the thremostat but it looks like its built in to the heater.

Even more from mach2027......

My suggestion that using a 12V relay instead of a 9V is actually not guaranteed to always work.
I currently recommend the readily available:

OMRON ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS, G5LE-14 DC9, RELAY, SPDT, SEALED, 10A, 9VDC

More from Mach2027,
The relay I purchased from Maplins failed after a few days use. I then fitted a new heater, assuming it was drawing too much current. The relay failed again after several days use. I then fitted a 16 AMP/240V relay (Omron G5LE-1E 12DC) & now all OK. The heater should only draw 7.5 Amps, so my conclusion is that the Maplins relay, although rated at 10 AMP/240V was not up to the job.

Hi,
The heater relay had clearly overheated on my control PCB. This resulted in the Dishwasher not heating or sometimes getting hot, even when the unit wasn't running a program (shorting).
The relay was easily replaced with a 12V relay (not 9V) from my local Maplins store. Part Number JM67X - Cost £1.30

I read this thread about a week ago, went on the advice of taking the pcb out and low and behold there was indeed not one but two scorch marks on it so i re-soldered and it now works perfectly.
Thank's for the pointers.

Hi Pez, is it safe to resolder the joint? I have read that it could burn out

Hi WES
If you have not already changed the relay, try just resoldering the joint. This has happened to me before, and I rushed out and bought a water heater (which is now a spare), when all I had to do was resolder, I have done this twice now and both times it has worked! It takes no more than 20 minuites start to finish. Hope this helps.

Hi, I have found out what the problem is, in case anyone happens to read this, its not an issue with the water heater its a problem with the control pcb. The part that has gone costs around £1 but I can only find it at CPC "SCHRACK COMPONENTS - T7NS5D4-12 - RELAY PCB SPCO 12VDC" so it will be more like £10 with delivery. Anyhow if you have a similar issue check the board first, its clear where the problem component is as the pcb will be burnt around the solder joint.
Wish i had checked this before I purchased a new water heater ! It looks easy enough to fix but if your not confident the board is about £40 here...
