how do i fix my lawn mower if i put gas where the oil goes by mistake

You CSR people will think I am the dumbest mechanic you ever came across, however the oil in my 6.0 needs changing, lost manual, can you offer a little guidance to this mechanical novice, THANKS. I did look under the mower found a oil plug, I believe, but I think I need a specail tool to open it, it seems square in size.
