central locking on 206 not working?

Hi I have a peugeot 206 2.0 gti. today i took out the maufacturer cd player (6 disc changer in boot) because i had locked it out by typing the wrong radio code in to many times. I changed it for a shop brought cd player. However after it was all installed and working i went to lock my car and the central locking has stopped completely so i have to lock it maually. The lights arent flashing and the buttons arent going down or attempting to lock. however sat in the car i can hear a slight tick when i press the lock button on the key fob.
in the process i did blow the 10amp fuse in the radio and changed this over, cd player working fine.
any clues? i've tried resetting key fob but nothin happend.
Any ideas really appreciated.
