broken underneath lcd screen?

hi- my 46" sharp lcd screen had a small black circle on the left hand side,and also there are coloured lines coming from it, but the black circle has getting a bit bigger, i touched it and it looks like its got small cracks underneath the thin plastic layer, it cud be just the coloured lines underneath the actual screen , the glass underneath the plastic layer on the actual front of the tv which is in excellent condition with no scratches on it, i dont know how it has happened, but it may have been my young grandson who i am thinking may have tapped it with a toy i just dont know as i went out of the room for a split second, or could this have just happened on its own? HELP.
