ford mondeo 2001 ?

as wickham says front subframe out, when you have it out look at the flywheel for signs of pitting and also take hold of it top nd bottom and feel for large amounts of play as this will indicate your dmf (dual mass fly wheel) is buggered too and they are expensive

sounds like your clutch is slipping,done one of these a few months ago,front xmember has to come out,sorry cant remember how much it was,fitted the three parts,go to a motor factors for one,cheaper than the main dealer,good luck
