Maytag Washer Model #LAT9706AAE that will not agitate or spin?

I have a Maytag Washer Model #LAT9706AAE that will not agitate or spin. It fills with water and will drain just fine. The motor sounds as though it is trying to do something thru the wash and spin cycles, but the the drum does not spin, nor will the agitator agitate.
