Help with Acoustic solutions dvd player 222 problem please?

I haven't used my player for a few months,charged it up today for use while away and it doesn't load,basically says its loading then 'open' flashes up intermitently,eventually it does stop flashing loading/open,then when i press play it comes up sequence/stop and doesn't do anything else...GRRR!! any ideas what could be wrong please??
