? im not sure if the thrushbearing has gone or not ?

will be springs in clutch plate rattling,[when clutch is out release bearing is on its lightest load ] if when its ticking over and rattling and you press and return pedal and noise goes for a while then it is above fault..

with clutch in this stops the drive to first motion shaft in g/box,when out and in neutral the shaft is turning,may be a rough first motion shaft bearing,have had the clutch release arm on these completely wearing through on the pivot on the g/box,think you can see this with a torch if you look into the bell housing where the arm goes onto the slave cyl.
