Mend Proline Fridge Freezer

fridge freezes when temp control greater than 1?

My father has a proline fridge freezer, in the last month the fridge has been freezing up when the temp dial is over 1, the normal setting would usually be 4. Is this a thermostat problem?

Currently he has to leave it at the lowest setting.
