Mend Kenmore 80 series Drain Agitate

kenmore 80 will not agitate?

I have a Kenmore 80 series washing machine and it won't agitate. It will fill up with water and drain, but does not agitate the clothes.

In addition to what John said, If your drum goes through the spin cycle but does not agitate, look at the "Agitator clutch dogs" located under the cap atop your agitator. The cost is about $5 to replace.

There is a coupling that connects the gear box to the motor. It is comprised of three pieces, one a rubber disc with seven holes. If any one of these three is broken, the symptoms are the same as what you are experiencing.

You haae to order the coupling form Sears and replace the three parts.
