Mend KitchenAid Repair Motor

Kitchen aide mixer does turn on but will not mix. ?

My kitchen aide mizer is 6 years old. It does turn on but will not mix. I can hear it trying to do do. Sounds like something is stuck. I turned it off immediately afraid it may overheat. How can I fix it?
