chime fault? in accenta/optima g3 alarm panel?

I have tried to increase the volume on the door chime in the day mode unset in the accenta g3 panel. The panel has no keypad only a rkp. I turned the vri volume within the panel and i only get a volume increase on door chime in the unset mode. The door chime is in zone 1. I press chime button on rkp then 1 for zone one. The chime increase does not operate in the day mode. Is it my prog setting that is wrong or is it got something to do with zone 1 being a timed zone.All fuses seem to be ok please help if possible thanks
