Kenmore 80 Series Gas Dryer shuts down before cycle is complete?

I have a Kenmore 80 Series gas dryer that recently shuts down before the cycle is complete. The top of the dryer feels hot to the touch also. I took apart and cleaned the entire duct system (it needed an angioplasty real bad) but it still shuts down before the cycle is complete and sometimes the pilot light lites and sometimes it doesn't. Please advise
