my smeg integrated dishwasher does not complete it's cycle?

my SMEG dishwasher does not complete any of it's wash programs. It will run and run. When you open the door the water is hot. The appliance will complete a cold rinse ok.
The washer was supplied in the kitchen of the house with no instructions so I don't know which model it is.
