THIS IS A VERY COMMON FAULT. THE COIL PACK IS A UNIT ABOUT 8 INCHES LONG THAT PLUGS ONTO THE TOP OF THE SPARK PLUG IN PLACE OF THE USUAL HT LEAD. THERE IS ONE COIL PACK FOR EACH PLUG. THERE IS A PUSH FIT PLUG ON THE SIDE WHERE YOU CONNECT THE PERMANENT WIRING FORM.
YOU NEED TO BUY A COIL PACK AND REPLACE ONE UNIT AT A TIME TO FIND OUT WHICH INDIVIDUAL PACK IS FAULTY. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU DO NOT DISCONECT THE UNIT FROM THE SPARK PLUG OR THE WIRING PLUG FROM THE UNIT WHEN THE ENGINE IS RUNNING OR IGNITION IS TURNED ON. IF YOU DO.... YOU WILL NEED TO HAVE THE SOFTWARE RESET !!
CHANGE A UNIT, TRY IT ... TURN OFF.. CHANGE ETC.
I ASSUME THE TROUBLE IS MISSFIRING OR ONLY RUNNING ON 3 CYLINDERS.
THE COIL PACKS ARE A PAIN AND RENAULT RECOGNISE THE PROBLEM BUT REFUSE TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT (IV'E HAD 6 !!) YOU CAN ALWAYS FIND OUT WHATS DODGY ON A RENAULT, IF THE PARTS IN STOCK... IT'S DODGY !
