How to realign a Nikon P-80 lens?

Just purchased from ebay. The listing described a "shadow" in the upper left corner of the viewscreen, but said it didn't bother the seller. Turns out, it isn't just on the viewscreen. That "shadow" shows up in pictures and is actually the round black plastic surrounding the lens, like it isn't centered properly.

Helpful tips? My husband works on electronics, hopefully he can fix it...
