Is oil required?

I have a MTD model #13BK695H352 riding Yard Machine lawn mower. Does it require oil? If so, where do I put the oil and what type of oil should I use? Thank you.

I guess its a four stroke engine, so you do need oil in the sump, there should be a visible screw in dip stick from the side of the engine
