My dishwasher won't empty?

My Hotpoint Aquarius DF61 was running fine until last evening when it completed the cycle but on opening the base was still full of water! I have managed to get the water out, as best I can, but it is still in the very bottom under the removable filter plate. I put my hand in and felt the opening of the pipe to the right, but could feel no obstruction.
