my starter motor keeps sticking on my vw caravelle high top camper?

its had a new starter motor but it still keeps sticking. takes maybe 5 times before it turns over. its a 1990 H reg diesel 5 gear

Hi Dawn if you can hear the starter motor turning but the engine doesnt it may have some teeth missing off the flywheel ring gear. If the starter clicks you may have a faulty starter or wiring problem.
