how can i fix my ghd's?

I have exactly the same problem as some of the people already on your sit.
I have a pair of ghd's, and recently when i switch them on the red light either won't come on or only come on when i hold them together in certain positions, then go off. They do heat up but not as hot as usual, I have to hold them hard together, just for them to heat up properly. I wanted to know how I can fix them?

Open them up and check the wires to the ceramic plates both of them. One might be broken.
