singer 1425 sewing machine?

Hi, can you turn the machine over by hand? If not the machine needs a service or has a thread jam or the hook gear is broken.
When you press the pedal can you hear the motor running? If so, either the belt has snapped or is mega loose (can be adjusted by an eccentic screw at the bottom of the motor)
Does the light come on? if not it may be a fuse blown or a dodgy connection in the plugor a broken wire in the lead.
If the light comes on could be a broken wire on the foot controller side of the lead.

Make sure there is power to the machine, check the light on the machine, if no light check the fuse in the plug, check the cable for any cuts or breaks.
