toshiba dvr19dtkb2?

since aqdding a sky box my dvr19dtkb does nothing won t even go into set up just a blank screen

i have a toshiba dvd/video 19dtkb2 it wont except any disk and keeps coming up with a disc errror saying unable to playback feature on this disk eject. This appears across the board and will not play dvd - or dvd + or normal dvd that bought in the shop and even now wont play a dvd laser disk cleaner after about 50 attempts. Im at my withsend and would appreciate some help. So thanks and will be waiting in much eager anticapation for your responses. Dean

I can get the "SETUP" menu or any menu from my remote. This did work before. I have tried rebooting but no joy. Can anyone advise?

Ok, It wont play on other machines because you have not "Finalized" the disc. Once you have finished your recording on your dvd and before you remove it from the drive, press the setup button on the remote.
Select DVD menu and press OK. Select "Finalise" and press OK then select Yes and press ok.... It normally takes forty seconds to a minute to finalize and you will see a percentage graphic on the screen. Once this has completed your disc SHOULD play on any DVD player.

The E25 is a different kettle of fish altogether. This is a macromedia encryption which prevents you from copying copyright material. I am presently searching the internet to find the easiest way to by pass this... without much joy I might add.... I will reportback if and when I find out something

No answer I'm afraid but having the exact same problem ... recorded something onto my freeview box's hard drive, transferred it to DVD (+RW) and finalised it ... works fine in the Toshiba but if I try it in another DVD player (or a BluRay) it tells me its an invalid disk and spits it out !! ... very odd ... so if ANYONE can help that would be fantastic

i hav not got any idea, but i am surring from the same problem with my dvr19dtkb2
and somethimes when i insert a vcr casset and click dubb it comes up with "e25" ??
