Mend Craftsman LT1000 Lawn Mower Lt1000

where is the fuse on a Craftmans LT 1000?

mower is 2 yrs old & would not start this spring, so bought a new battery from Sears & it still would not start (owner said battery did not need acid/charge) but suggested maybe the fuse blew when I tried to crank up the engine. He said it's under the engine hood next to steering column but I cannot find it. Where is it & where can I get a manual for this mower; it was a display & can't find the manual anywhere. Thanks.

The fuse in a blade type, in a holder attached to the metalwork on the right hand side of the gas tank. It's not that easy to get out - you may have to remove the tank.

If there is any sign of life whatever, the fuse isn't the problem.
