Mend Sears 665-15632000 Dishwasher Not Turn

Dishwasher does not turn on?

My Kenmore Model #665-15632000 is 10 years old and given no problems until this morning when I closed the door and pressed the Start button. The washer never came on, and the little green lights never came on. Totally dead. Is there some kind of Start switch that is malfunctioning? Anything else could it be. Unless,maybe it is time to get a new one? A repairman is $129 just for Sears to walk in the door. New switch probably $45, who knows. New dishwasher probably $400
