How do I reduce the pressure in my boiler?

Hi, my boiler pressure is reading just under 3bar after the system was over filled. I have bled the radiators - possibly taking 2 buckets of water but the pressure has remained the same. Have I taken enough out? The water empties at quite a pressure.
