Mend Ford Mondeo 07 reg Alarm Car

Alarm with a mind of its own (Car Ford Mondeo 07 reg.)?

After electronic analysis, my Ford dealer tells me that my "horn" has developed a fault, a spare part is required, this will take a week to deliver meanwhile, it is not possible to disconnect or otherwise disable the horn. Is this advice correct? My neighbours are desperate to know.
