Mend Fiat Brava Petrol Starting Start

fiat brava petrol - turning over but not starting. why?

my car when i start it is turing over but not starting. at first i thought it was the immobiliser but the dash board light for this goes off so it isn't that. i think its something before the coil or split pipe that is getting damp but i have sprayed all the pipes with water repelant and it still wont start. any suggestions as i need my car for work and i am loosing my patients now
