wipers and alarm system gone down?

my wipers on my mk3 galaxy went crazy on me. they started working by themselves and wouldn't stop even after i took the keys out of the ignition, eventually they slowed down and stopped working completely. i noticed at around the same time the remote locking stopped working and a message on the instrument panel says alarm system service required.

it all happened around the time when i changed the standard headunit to a clarion dvd with builtin sat nav.

i also put xenon lights on it and changed the sidelight bulbs to l.e.ds. just thought i'd add what i've changed on the car just incase it has got anything to do with it.

i've had someone test my wiper stalk, relay and the motors and they seem to be ok.

could anyone please HELP as its now driving me crazy.
