Mend Electrolux epic 8000 Working Fine

electrolux epic 8000 acting up?

my electolux is working fine except that I can't get the handle to work independently from the long floor sweeper. I have the green light on the handle but when I plug it back in to the sweeper it works fine. Can anyone help?
