Mend Sink Turn Water

How Can I Fix my bathroom sink taps ?

How can I stop the Taps on my bathroom sink from turning when I turn the water off. Taps are metal & sink is ceramic

I have tried plumbers mate, but the taps have plastic washers & as you suggest you can't tighten them up as you would like, so changing them for brass ones & split kick/centralising washers (which I had never heard of) seems a good idea.

tighten back nuts up! Bed tap on plumbers mate and then tighten back nuts up, fit brass back nuts if plastic ones are on now or try split kick/centralising washers also known as top hat washers because of their shape
