no pressure when turning on shower?

Just fitted a new shower and basin sink and the hot water pressure is crap! so Ive fitted a salamander ct50 single pump just to the hot water supply in the bathroom and works fine on the sink but takes a while for the pump to kick in when you turn the shower on!

Any help on the matter would be a great help as its doing my head in :S

Cheers Ash

when i said mains fed I ment I used the exsiting cold water fed from the bath, Is this still the case that I need a twin pump? And after checking in the loft I would say Im perhapes on the border for the 600mm between shower head and bottom of tank.

totally wrong putting cold mains gravity pumped hot
you need balanced pressures to have a proper shower install you should of used a twin pump.

depending on the pump ie salamander recommend 600mm between showerhead and base of cws tank.
pos/neg head pumps are all for gravity setups but you must do the install as they state or you'll get problems
and your warranty will be void.

Someone on another site has said its because i have a positive head pump, which when choosing my pump it states on the box for gravity fed systems. so rather than buying a new pump by raising the cold water storage tank would this make the pump work instantly?

thanks

the cold water is on the mains and has brilliant pressure and yer if you lower the shower head then no problem, its as if there isnt enough hot water flo to start the pump immediately.

so if thats the problem whats the simplest way of getting round this?

Thanks Ash

shower.

whats supplying the cold to the shower ?
going by what you say the tap kick the pump in but the shower don't i would say your on the boarder line of neg head.

does the shower kick in if you lower the shower head ?
if so then your head height is to low regarding the cws tank.
