the light comes on but does not heat the water?

what do i do with my kettle the light comes on but does not heat the water. is there anyway i can check the continuity of the wires and components?

The failure to heat the water is almost absolute conclusive proof that the heating element is open circuit. A check may be made with a resistance meter (if you have one) but it will just show an open circuit. Very few (no) kettles are made to be repairable these days - it's a safety thing.

What do you do with your kettle? Throw it away and buy a new one.
