Mend Russell Hobbs 30460 Spring

Replacing spring in Russell Hobbs lid 20460 kettle?

I have removed the lid from my Russell Hobbs 30460 kettle - I need to replace the spring but can't work out how to separate the parts of the lid to get inside it.

You can prise the lid out, it hinges on two pegs that slot into holes in two ears that are flexible enough to move apart and free the led. Then it just snaps back in. Don't know where to get a new spring though!
