while selecting low gears my s80 2.4 auto diesel 2002 sometimes hesitates then jerks into gear, all other gears are fine and it only happens every now and then, could this be the gearbox on its way out?
For economy reasons with foot on brake in gear it will de clutch (less drag). Brake switch may be hanging on. Extreme cases will tear one way clutch from inside box housing. There is a mod to do away with the neutralizing which you will have to go to the dealer for.
