How can I turn off auto on a Tricity Fanfare oven?

My parents have a Tricity Fanfare electric cooker. For some reason it has changed from manual to auto as the light is on auto, not on the hand sign (they might have done this by mistake) The instructions are lost and I cant work out how to change it back to manual. The top oven and grill will not work and I was wondering if it is because its on auto. Also the clock is hard to see as my dad said there was a bang and it seems to have blown an area around it. My dad is 84 and I dont want him messing about with it if its broken!!
