Mend Leisure Alta Control Electric Oven

Fix control knob for leisure alta electric oven?

Hi, the control knob for my electric oven (leisure alta) has come off. It isn't a case of just putting the plastic knob back on as the spindle it attach's too has also come away.
From what I can see it hasn't broken or sheered but there doesn't appear to be an easy way to just put metal spindle back in and then attach the control.
Any help or advice appreciated thanks :)
