my 1995 ford escort wont run just replaced the head gasket how can i fix it?

i just replaced the head gasket on my 1995 ford escort, all fluids, spark plug wires. there is one electrical connector that i cant figure out where it goes it is near the right side back of the engine i believe its yellow and red wires not to sure the headlights come on but wont turn over?

it sounds like that cable that is left over is to the starter motor solinoid it would have a spade end on it

Start at the begining! Are you saying it wont turn over? If so its a differant answer to wont run!! Is there enough power in battery? Does the small connection ontop of the starter have a posative feed to it when the ignition switch is turned to the start position? are all cables and eatrh and battery terminals in good condition and clean? is the wire that is not connected the starter activation wire?
