how can i fix my bt studio 1100?

my bt studio 1100 handset will not allow me to dial out calls, all you keep hearing is"you are not registed to use this service". maybe when i was trying to set numbers in it without instructions i done something to it. Also i dont know how to save numbers in the phone book. any suggestions please.
